Dato’ Ir. Ahmad ‘Asri Abdul Hamid

Chief Executive CIDB Malaysia

Dr Low Sui Pheng is Professor of Building at the School of Design and Environment, National University of Singapore where he has previously served as Head of Department, Vice-Dean of School and Director of the Centre for Project Management and Construction Law. He was honoured with a DSc from the University of Birmingham and holds a PhD from University College London. A Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Building, he is also a winner of numerous teaching excellence awards, best paper awards and outstanding reviewer awards. His latest book on “Project Management for the Built Environment” was recently published by Springer in 2018.

Dato’ Ir. Ahmad ‘Asri Abdul Hamid has been appointed as the Chief Executive of the Construction Industry Development Board Malaysia (CIDB) on 1st March 2016.

He formerly held the post of Senior General Manager of the Management Sector in CIDB, and has 17 years experience in CIDB under various capacities, including heading the Levy Divisons, Business & Corporate Divisions and the Development Sector.

Dato’ Ir. Ahmad ‘Asri has been in public service for more than 33 years, including as a mechanical engineer in the Public Works Department for 13 years. He has also served as the President for the Professional Services Development Corporation (PSDC) for 3 years, where he was responsible for developing the capability and capacity of the professional services sector in facing with the challenges of liberalisation.

Dato’ Ir. Ahmad ‘Asri holds a first-class honours degree in Mechanical Engineering from Adelaide University, Australia and the Master of Business Administration, MBA degree from the Open University, UK. He is a Fellow of the Institution of Engineers, Malaysia (IEM), Professional Engineers registered with Board of Engineers Malaysia, Member of RICS, Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Building Malaysia CIOB and latest he is appointed as Ahli Tetap Jawatankuasa Peringkat Eksekutif Majlis Tindakan Sara Hidup Negara by Minister of Domestic Trade, Co-operatives and Consumerism.
